EVO focuses on efficiency
New models for Linde’s success story:
The Linde E12 to E20 EVO electric forklift trucks
Electric three wheel and four-wheel forklift trucks in the 1.2 to 2-tonne load category are among the most widely used trucks. They can be found in distribution centres and manufacturing plants, as well as in wholesale and retail. With a new generation, the Linde E12 to E20 EVO series, truck manufacturer Linde Material Handling (MH) has made its successful models even better by adding new features and adapting the models to changing requirements, such as increased outdoor use. Different driving dynamics programs also mean settings can be tailored between high performance and low energy consumption according to individual customer requirements.
The new Linde E12 to E20 EVO electric forklift truck series stands out with its black “shark fin” on a red truck chassis. Inside the truck, a new controller with improved tuning achieves up to 16 percent lower energy consumption and CO2 emissions compared to the previous series
Success does not come about by accident. Technical highlights such as a compact axle with integrated power modules and two-engine front-wheel drive, combined axle and dual-pedal control, along with the ergonomics concept have made the Linde electric forklift truck the benchmark in the truck industry for many years.
The new electric forklift truck series stands out with its black “shark fin” on a red truck chassis and the EVO lettering. Inside the truck, a new controller with improved tuning achieves up to 16 percent lower energy consumption and CO2 emissions compared to the previous series. In addition, the optimised characteristic curves mean that the trucks have more power on gradients and when moving loads.
With a new generation, the Linde E12 to E20 EVO series, truck manufacturer Linde Mate-rial Handling has improved its successful models even further from a technical point of view, adding new features and adapting the models to changing business needs, such as increasing outdoor use.
For the high frequency on-board charger located in the counterweight that allows flexible recharging at any socket, the new series offers active ventilation as standard. This simplifies the battery charging process because the driver does not need to open the battery hood, cab door or the truck windows.
A “real-time indicator” allows drivers to make optimum use of the energy reserves, precisely recording energy consumption and showing the battery remaining period to the minute on the multifunction display. This offers the driver planning security and avoids deep discharges that damage the battery.
The new Linde E12 to E20 EVO series also offers further improvements in terms of com-fort. These improvements include the new-generation seat and armrest with special upholstery for improved seat pressure distribution, vibration optimization and a padded armrest with a compartment for personal items.
Greater comfort for more productive work
How productive the truck actually is will also be influenced by driver performance. Providing the driver with optimum support and a comfortable workplace has been another development goal. This is reflected, for example, in the new-generation seat and armrests and the larger step. The driver’s seat upholstery is specially tailored to the Linde truck and provides enhanced seat pressure distribution. At the same time, the workplace has been vibration-optimized, which, in conjunction with the maintenance-free, elastic mounting of the axle, reduces human vibrations even further. The padded armrest also opens to provide the driver with a compartment for personal items.
Built-in safety
Preventing accidents wherever possible is a key requirement in many companies. An additional safety feature that ensures peace of mind for both operating companies and drivers alike is the parking brake that is applied automatically when the truck is at a standstill and is fitted as standard in the new series. This means that the truck is secure whenever the driver leaves it. It also prevents uncontrolled rollback of the truck on ramps. The parking brake is released by actuating the accelerator pedal.
With the large number of different models within the new generation of electric forklift trucks, Linde MH has taken note of important customer requirements. There are a total of 19 models to choose from, from the Linde E12 model with 1.2-tonne load capacity and 24 volts version to the Linde E20 PHL with 2-tonne load capacity and a 930-Ah battery.
