You took the positive step to give yourself a helping hand when it came to evening out your skin tone or recapturing that youthful look, by undergoing an aesthetic procedure such as fillers or lasers. Now you’ve started thinking about how to show off your beautiful-again face – perhaps by checking out the latest make-up trends. You’re in luck, as here’s our guide to the top Spring/ Summer 2014 make-up looks:
This Spring/ Summer 2014, you’ve got even more reasons to celebrate – one of the main trends, according to Vogue (and how can we doubt them?), is Raw Beauty. Why’s that good news for you ladies? It means that you can show off your rejuvenated skin. The aim of the (no) make-up is to create a look that is fresh and modern. Fashion houses such as Alexander Wang achieved that by slicking on some concealer where needed and a sweep of pale eyeshadow around the eyes to enhance their shape. That’s all – no mascara, no blusher, just the real deal. As Guido Palau told Vogue, “Doing as little as possible but still looking good is the most modern thing you can do right now.” We agree!
However, if you prefer a pop of colour, then blue eyeshadow is back. For many, it might remind you of good old eighties fashion, ancient grandmothers or little girls experimenting with their mother’s makeup palette, but blue shades have grown up (in a good way). To avoid giving yourself a dated look, you should opt for strong tones around the eyes (think electric blue, azure and aqua), but keep the rest of your makeup neutral.
Golds are also back this season, thanks to the bronzed beauties walking down the catwalk for brands such as Michael Kors and Donna Karan. Other fashion houses took this to even further extremes, with golden brows and goldleaf partings – an expensive one to try at home! Still, a smattering of bronzer over your décolletage and face can bring a healthy glow – and goes rather well with the raw beauty look! Are you all geared up to take over this Spring/ Summer 2014 season?
