Birthmarks can present at birth or appears shortly after birth. They can occur anywhere on the skin.
Birthmarks are generally caused by an overgrowth of certain structure in the skin. For example, an overgrowth of blood vessels produces vascular birthmarks (patch of red, pink, or purple skin); an overgrowth of pigment cells produces moles.
Treatment recommendations and the number of sessions required are made depending on the colour, darkness, size and intensity of your birthmark.
In the case of a tattoo, we need to consider the depth of the ink, and how old it is as well.
