Melissa McCarthy has caused quite a stir in recent news when she flaunted her slimmest figure she has in years since debuting in primetime TV. The 45-year-old American actress who recently launched her new clothing line, Melissa McCarthy Seven7 that caters to both skinny and plus size women, has lost about 25 kilograms. The comedic mother of two has never looked better as she appeared noticeably leaner during her recent movie launch, The Boss. According to one source, Melissa went on a regimen of high-protein and low-carb diet – pro-actively making small changes which paid off in big results. Adding on to her diet, McCarthy was ritually following a fitness workout plan comprising of walking and Pilates. She has her family to thank for as her motivation to lose weight zeroed in on being healthy for her two young daughters and husband, Ben Falcone. A friend confirmed that McCarthy realised that she wasn’t being healthy and as a mother, she wanted to set a healthy example for her kids and hopes that she would be around long after being a grandmother too.

With her new clothing line, McCarthy believes in the importance that women of all sizes should be able to acquire fashionable clothes that they desire. She adamantly disapproves segmenting people by any means; therefore it’s no surprise that her clothing line features 80 pieces of attire that comes in all sizes, ranging from 4 to 28. Driven to inspire all women who have a sense of style and fashion regardless of their size to feel good about themselves – her apparels aim to provide stylish and fashionable options that has especially eluded many plus-sized women.
Body shaming victim The affable actress also told E! Online during an interview that having been a victim of body shaming comments, she understands how bullying affects people especially young girls and although she never lets those comments affect her, she struggled with weight issues – wishing that she didn’t have to think or care about her weight at all. Having studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City, McCarthy chose to begin her career as a stand-up comedian. Her role as Sookie St. James in TV series
Gilmore Girls gained her recognition which led her to win a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Molly Flynn in
Mike & Molly. A nominee for Best Supporting Actress in the Oscars for the movie
Bridesmaids, McCarthy was ranked by Forbes as 2015’s third highest paid actress in the world, behind Jennifer Lawrence and Scarlett Johansson.
